Detection of Auto-Immune Inflammatory Disease - Sepsis
Project type
Machine Learning
Date
February, 2020
Location
Vellore, India
Detection of Sepsis, a clinical condition where one's immune system attacks their own organs in response to internal triggers, is highly unlikely until any organs are affected.
There are multiple techniques to detect Sepsis at Level 2. Though level 1 detection is still in research phase, a biomarker called MDW has been a promising biomarker.
1. Instead of collecting data from internet source (rare), we did some ground work. We visited hospitals and other nearby local communities collecting blood samples.
2. We processed the samples at the Bio-Tech labs with appropriate assistance.
3. We designed and built circuits using multiple Microcontrollers. The entire hardware setup is divided into 4 compartments: To compute various biomarkers like Turbidity, Chemiluminescent Immunoassay etc.
4. We then deployed a Neural Network to train and test the collected dataset.
